Monthly - Filter Maintenance

Remove glass lid and light unit.

Remove and rinse the Ceramic and Carbon Cartridges in some water from the aquarium.

Disconnect the Duckbill Outlet from the Elbow.

Lift out pump assembly from filter body.

Impeller well

Rinse the Duckbill Outlet, Elbow, Uplift Pipe and Joiner. Use a pipe brush* if required.

Disconnect the Pump from the Elbow, Uplift Pipe and Joiner.

Disassemble the Pump. Remove the Intake Strailer, Impeller Cover, Flow Control Slider and Impeller.

Use a pipe brush* to clean all pump components, paying particular attention to the impeller well.

Never rinse the Ceramic Cartridge in tap water as

this will disrupt the beneficial bacteria that live on the filter media and can lead to harm or death of the aquarium inhabitants.

Remove any debris on the Filter Inlet.

Reassemble the Pump. Reconnect the Pump to the Elbow, Uplift Pipe and Joiner. Replace Pump into Filter than reconnect the Duckbill Outlet. Replace all equipment on the aquarium.

Check that your hands and power plugs are dry, and turn power back on. Check that all equipment is working correctly over the next half hour.

Take care not to lose small parts when servicing the

aquarium, especially when cleaning filter components at a sink.
