Inspiring Excellence in Fish Care!

Cleaning and Lubricating O-Rings For extended life and ease of assembly and disassembly during maintenance, it is recommended that o-rings are lubricated with an aquarium safe o-ring lubricant such as AquaLube*. Lubricating the o-rings will also minimise the chance of parts seizing leading to accidental breakages during maintenance.

To remove the O-ring, use a plastic card, such as a credit card* to gently lever the o-ring up and over the lip of its seat. Then roll it off the part.

Rinse in fresh water to remove any particles attached. Dry the O-ring. Clean the O-ring channel, making sure to remove all foreign particles.

Put a small amount of lubricant* and smear it over the o-ring so that it is covered by a thin film. Replace O-ring back onto the part.

Troubleshooting

Most issues with the filter will be caused by a small number of problems. Follow the checklists below to solve any issues you may have. Over time, wear on filter parts will affect the filter function and you may find that a replacement part such as an impeller or o-ring will be required. Please see your Aqua One retailer to source these parts if required. Occasionally, there may be an issue that is not resolved by following these steps. If this is the case, contact your Aqua One retailer or contact Aqua One Customer Care for further advice.

The external flexible cables of this unit cannot be replaced. If the cable is damaged, the part should be replaced.
